Yep! Listen up! This Redneck has something to say about "frontier justice". I agree with BOTH WD & WDO. In the "old frontier days" of this country, bandits and outlaws ruled the land and the law in most towns because most of the citizens thought having a personal firearm wasn't "civilized", and the local law officer, was for the most part, by himself. If he needed a "posse" he got the citizens that had the sense to have guns to help, or would give out the precious few that he had if need be. When the "law" tried to outlaw firearms in these towns and inacted a "confiscation until you leave my town" order, the outlaws and bandits still managed to get guns in. Fast forward to the mid/late 1980's for a moment. I have a copy of a made for TV movie based on a real life case. It is titled "The Right Of The People". In it, the citizens of a small city subburb voted in a "right to carry law" (meaning if you had a clean criminal/psycologicl record, you could openly carry a firearm without a permit). Criminals heard about the law, and wouldn't go into that subburb because they new the citizens were armed, and would most likely shoot back! Think about it folks, it's been said so many times before, but, if you outlaw ANYTHING, only the OUTLAWS will have/do it. It's a simple fact! One bit of irony in the whole gun control debate is the fact that Sarah Brady (whose husband was shot in the attempt on President Reagan's life) bought a gun a few years ago and got herself a "concealed carry" permit. Now if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is! She has a gun, but doesn't want anyone else to have one!

I'm closing this rant with this thought: If everyone had guns, would the world be better or worse? Would you be quick to loose your temper at the jerk that just cut you off on the highway, and pull your gun and shoot at him, knowing that he may shoot back? Or would he probably not be so "bold" to cut anyone off knowing that they may have a gun and come after him?
